DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A SHARED VISION
The opportunities provided through my coursework and observations have enabled me to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the CAPE Standards, as evidenced by the connections below.
CAPE 1c: New administrators recognize and explain to staff and other stakeholders how the school vision guides planning, decision-making, and the change processes required to continuously improve teaching and learning.
As a future administrator, I led an English Department Professional Learning Community (PLC) through a data analysis focused on literacy instruction and student achievement. We began by reviewing the school's mission, vision, and goals, and then discussed benchmark data for reading and writing. As a result of the collaborative process, we identified a problem of practice and designed an instructional strategy intervention to implement in our classrooms.
