ETHICS AND INTEGRITY

The opportunities provided through my coursework and observations have enabled me to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the CAPE Standards, as evidenced by the connections below.

self-reflection.png

CAPE 5a: New administrators regularly review and reflect on their performance and consider how their actions affect others and influence progress toward school goals.

CAPE 5b: New administrators develop and know how to use professional influence with staff, students, and community to develop a climate of trust, mutual respect, and honest communication necessary to consistently make fair and equitable decisions on behalf of all students.

After leading a PLC through a process of analyzing data, choosing a problem of practice, designing an instructional strategy, and implementing the intervention, I reflected on my leadership choices and actions. Using research on adult learning theory, I evaluated my planning, organization, and collaboration. I discovered that I need to grow in my willingness to share leadership responsibility and delegate tasks. Simply put, I need to do better at trusting my team.
